She always talked of another place, one that would be ideal for us. Mother and daughter only. This place did not exist on a map. It was a fairytale kingdom where families lived happily ever after. There was always plenty of food and relatives and friends to share it with. There was laughter, and sunshine and babies. She sucked me into this secret world of hers and we lived there, far away from Father’s corrosive tongue and condescending attitude.
