started to get messages from God. First one came in through the letter box. It said: Dear Derek, you are doing a lot of things wrong. Sort it out. Lots of love. God.
God had quite nice handwriting and wrote, as you would expect, in rather old-fashioned, capital letters. Derek was a little perturbed about this letter but he also had a lot of other mail that morning and one of the other letters told him that the phone company would stop allowing him to talk to his friends if he didn’t pay them the money he owed within seven days. God’s letter, as you will remember, was far less demanding than that.
